Little Bo Peek and Humpty Dumpty Clip Art

I love making clip art and I made these on my Ipad Pro with an apple pencil. This set was made on procreate. I have used Illustrator and Photoshop, but I don't find them as easy to use as Procreate. I hope you enjoy these little clips.

Little Bo Peep was inspired by a recent trip to Dannevirk in New Zealand. There we went to the Fantasy Cave where they feature a range of theatrical figues in set in scenes from well known nursery rhymes to fairy tales. They were amazing and they were right up our alley due to our background in theatre. The lighting was fabulous as well.

It was very reasonable price only $7 for adults and less for kids. It took about half an hour to go around everything. But if it was full it would probably take longer. As it was there was myself and my husband in the place, but it was well worth going in.

Now I also decided to make one other clip art set and it was Humpty Dumpty. I like funny characters so I made this set using a variety of positions from Humpty's perspective. Hope you enjoy.

Mother's Day Idea One

I found this really cute idea where students write in chalk their I love you message and throw themselves in the middle for a photograph. Simple but pretty effective if you ask me. I know, I know thank me later.

Even lookie at this idea. 

You could take photos and print them and mount them on colored card to send home to mom/mum.
Here is another great idea very similar to the one above.

Mother's Idea Two

Many parents have some excellent cupcake wrappings at home. You may also have a variety of buttons or an old cardigan ready to be chucked away. Why not cut the buttons off. Then get your students, children and or grandchildren together and they can make this excellent idea. Bright colorful and on point.

Mother's Day Ideas Three 

This idea I love because it involves students writing about their mum or female caregiver and she is depicted as a super hero. Craft involves cutting, pasting, assembly and writing. This might take two sessions at least to complete.

Mother's Day Idea Four

This is a nice simple handprint idea for teachers to make the template up themselves. All you need to do is to draw an outline of a hand and make it into a tree. Draw little hearts around it on a US letter sized paper and have students make this little beauty up. If I was having student make this, I would get them to color them in first rather than use colored card.

Flower Displays, Craft for the Classroom

Okay so I love crafts and always will. I found this amazing craft of the growth of a Daffodil flower and I thought I'd post it here on my blog. This is fabulous because it has a 3-D effect and what kid doesn't love 3-D? It has actual seeds in the middle as well. A lovely resource.

Rocky shore or Tidal Pools Mini Diorama

Hi guys, it's been a while since my last post. But I am very excited about this great little theatre piece or should I say diorama I put together. This is perfect for studies on the Rocky shore or Tidal Pools. I love the clip art done by Educlips. 

This comes both in black and white as well as color. This is very children as young as 7 to 11. All depending on the classroom and age levels mind you.

Facts About the Water Cycle

Here is an easy way of teaching facts about the water cycle to your students. Please read the water cycle terms and their explanation beside them. 

Evaporation: s a type of vaporization of a liquid that occurs from the surface of a liquid into a gaseous phase that is not saturated with the evaporating substance. The other type of vaporization is boiling, which is characterized by bubbles of saturated vapor forming in the liquid phase.

Precipitation: The product of the condensation of atmospheric water vapor that falls under gravity. The main forms of precipitation include drizzle, rain, sleet, snow, and hail.

Condensation:  is the change of the physical state of matter from gas into liquid, and is the reverse of evaporation. 

Runoff:  is the flow of water that occurs when excess stormwater, meltwater, or other sources flows over the Earth's surface.

Vapor:  is the gaseous phase of water.

Transpiration: is the process of water movement through a plant and its evaporation from aerial parts, such as leaves, stems and flowers. 

Infiltration is the process by which water on the ground surface enters the soil. 

 Percolation: refers to the movement and filtering of fluids through porous materials.

The facts about the water cycle are easy to understand the teach in the classroom.

This is an example of the water cycle which you can teach your students.

The clouds have condensed to much, that they released rain which has fallen into the Ocean, river, lake or body of water. This water is heated up by the energy from the sun and it evaporates into a vapour which begins to form clouds. Due to other atmospheric conditions, the clouds form into larger, heavier clouds and the pressure is released in forms of sleet, know, rain, and snow. The cycle continues around and around.

New Math Resource for Pre-Kindergarten Kids

I was teaching in a Year zero or Kindergarten classroom the other day and luckily I was given heads up on what the teacher wanted to me to do. I made a couple of great one page printables where I taught the kids about healthy teeth. You can check out my page and download it for free in my Teachers Pay Teachers shop. The actual post is in the previous post.

But this got me thinking, I decided to focus some of my resource making on Pre-Kindergarten as the American's like to call it or Year One's as us Kiwis like to call it. I love puzzles and cut and paste activities. So I decided to do a bit of research and found ideas about how to make puzzles and cut and paste ideas work. I made the following math activity where kids cut out the pictures and paste them on a puzzle to cut and paste and then assemble. Sure at first it will be a bit of work for the kids, but after a few, they will get the idea.

At least I know have some resources for Math for kids this age in the future. I quite enjoyed teaching these little people and I am looking forward to teaching that age group again.

Fun Creatives for Teachers

Hello Teachers and how is it all going for you. This is my site's name is Fun Creatives for Teachers. I am really pleased to offer a range of tips and tricks as well as excellent teaching products for your fun and please.

I have been teaching elementary or primary school for over 10 years, both as a full time teacher and relief or substitute teachers. Throughout this time I have also been heavily involved in Theater and Drama both on television and on stage. So as you can image my teaching has been heavily influenced by the 'dramatics' as well.

I live in New Zealand and have taught mainly in the Auckland areas, teaching a range of socio economic areas. I cut my teeth with those students who came from the lower socio economic classes and this is where I found my teaching style. I came to appreciate the hardships kids go through and their families. I have also taught very wealthy older students and adults drama and that was also an eye opening experience.

I have also had a teaching role to some degree, such as in the classroom, with adults or even as a director and stage manager on the stage. So I love sharing my knowledge and making things 'happen' from the imagination, hence why I love teaching young children.

As a result of teaching kids, I've often had to develop worksheets, plans, resources to go with whatever subject I was teaching. This gave me a good insight in how to make resources to a high degree which works in the classroom. Also I was very lucky to work with a well known New Zealand children's celebrity Suzi Cato who offered me the change to write two educational books for teachers which included lesson plans, objectives, worksheets and related subject areas to work on. I also had the change to work on television scripts for the programs which were related to the educational workbook for teachers that I wrote. So as you can see I had the opportunity to research, write and oversea topic areas which are often taught in the school curriculum. The program is was from the Bryan and Bobby series dedicated for children ages 5-10.

So I have been noticing this great website called Teachers Pay Teachers which featured many great resources which I have needed. I have bought quite a few products from this site from Greek Urns for Adults (teaching Greek History) and drama games. Hence me wanting to develop my own resources for sale with Fun Creatives for Teachers.

I started in 2015 with some clip art and which didn't really sell well. This was probably due to the great clip art which was already out there AND also because I was just starting and hadn't had any followers. This is also something I am now beginning to work on.

So far as of Sep 2015 I have 35 products for sale and have sold around about  $350 worth of digital products. I am quite happy with this because it excites me to get sales. My sales kicked in as of the beginning of August 2015 which was about a month and a half ago. I did get a few sales from April onwards, but this was when it really kicked in which was the beginning of the new school year in the USA. So I can see the potential in the future. But I have to keep working on creating good products for sale as well as working on this blog to give good tips and tricks so people can take these and do what they will with them.

So hence my Fun Creatives website on Teachers Pay Teachers is on it's way as we speak.

First Tip and Trick

First tip and trick for selling. My advice so far is for you to take things slowly and don't despair if you don't get too many sales at first, just know it's a slow burner. Follow the forums at TPT which give you excellent advice in how to sell and advertise your products. Just make sure you make products which are high quality and have a great cover page.
